Strange a'happenings..

Ok I was just messing around with my guitar pedals and had set up my Korg AX100G upto my old Rocktek Overdrive1 and finished off with my vox wah. the guitar was a standard epiphone LP, and the amp was an 80 watt Harley Benton Eminence Speaker. now, when I put full level, tone and gain up on my Rocktek, turned off my vox and put my Korg on bypass and then stomped my Rocktek I was greeted by radio1 from my speaker.
I know its not the amp as its been used for a good 9 months with every pedal under the sun with different settings and alterations.. but this has bamboozeled me, anyone any ideas why the Rocktek has got my amp to pickup radio FQs? oh and if anyones selling a Boss DF-2 I'm eager to buy.. yeah

wow, thats amazing....now SONY dont need all that equipment on stage to get all thier speical radio effects, they just need your amp/pedals

yeah but they can only have gigs at certain times to fit in with Radio1s scheduale.. maybe they can sort out a royalty deal with 'em or summats

I think the main lesson to be learnt here is Rocktek pedals are shit.

The reason you are picking up radio signals is through poor shielding of the offending Rocktek pedal. The casing of these poor excuses for pedals is made of plastic:
Q. Electro-magnetic shielding offered by plastic?
A. Jack shit.
The distortion process amplifies the usually weak radio signals to such a level that you can hear them through your amp.

You'll just have to deal with this fact.

If you were the boring type you could shield the inside of the pedal with some kind of metal foil and then connect this foil to earth/ground. If you were the more exciting type you could buy yourself a new distortion pedal and throw this one under the wheels of a passing juggernaut.

haha I'm replacing all my equipment anyway I was just using it in my floorboard to see if mixing my multi and single effects together would sound good, and apart from the single occasion of RnB hour it did sound good. I'm hoping to get a DF-2 and an OD-2 from Boss, them things are damn tanks

lol nah. I'm quite tempted to get a Line6 Flexitone HD, which comes with some great effects and a damn good floorboard though, and then use my wah with that, and any effects I dont like I can just replace with some boss single stomp boxes and do a mini daisychain off the main multi effects floorpedal.
I'd love to have a DF-2 though, great little things.
